we love questions
Here are some of the questions we are most frequently asked about Smart-Form:

Can I control the format of the results that are sent to me?

Yes you can. You can select to have the results sent as HTML, text, CSV data or XML data. In fact, you can set multiple 'recipients' for each form and each recipient can receive the results in a different format!

If you choose HTML then you can provide a 'HTML Results Template' that determines how the 'results' HTML is formatted.

Can I have the visitor receive a copy of the form they submit?

Sure! Just create a field on your form where the customer can enter their e-mail address. Call it 'DynamicRecipientUser'. Be SURE to specify 'E-Mail Validation' for this field so that the user is required to enter a valid address.

Next, in the Form administration area add a corresponding 'Recipient' to the Form's Delivery Package and be sure to call it dynamicrecipientuser (MUST BE all lowercase).

Now, when your user enters their e-mail address, a copy will be sent to the address they specified.

Can I pre-populate my form's fields with run-time values?

Yes.  The link that 'calls' your form from your website can include the values that you want inserted  into the form before it is displayed to the user.

My website uses 'FrontPage Extensions' - will Smart-Form still work?

Yes, it will. Any FrontPage 'Bots' in your Smart-Form will not function but your form and its validation will work with Smart-Form once you have copied the form HTML into Smart-Form.

Do I have to know HTML to use Smart-Form?

No. You can use Quick-Form for many forms an never touch the HTML because the administrative area will let you use features like validation, help text and so on, just as if you had used custom HTML.

You can also select form a growing list of pre-defined template that can be copied to your account.

Lastly, if you need greater control, we are happy to build your forms for you. We are fast, professional and very competitively priced!  We even occasionally run a 'free custom design' promotion!

No. You can do all of those things through the administrative interface, without touching a line of code!

Can I use my own custom JavaScript in my Smart-Forms?

Yes, at form submission time, once any validation rules are passed, Smart-Form looks for a user-defined function called 'ExtraUserValidation()'. If it exists it is executed. It can do anything you like, provided that it returns true or false.
